Dr. Cohoon joined the Arkansas Tech faculty in 1960 and has taught the following courses: Physical Geology, Historical Geology, Mineralogy, Petrology, Optical Mineralogy, Structural Geology, Subsurface Geology, Economic Geology, and Environmental Geology. Dr. Cohoon has held the following administrative positions: Department Head, Division Chairman, and Dean at Arkansas Tech University. He was appointed to the Arkansas Geological Commission by Governor Bill Clinton in 1987 and was appointed to his current term in 2012 by Governor Mike Beebe. He retired from teaching in June of 2012 after 52 years of service with ATU.
