Administrative Specialist III to the Board of Registration for Professional Geologists
After 33 years of service with Department of Finance & Administration, Mrs. Turner retired in 2011 and then decided to get back in the workforce. She has worked at AGS since 2013. She is married and a lifetime resident of Arkansas and a 1978 Graduate of Draughon School of Business. She is a member of New Rock of Ages MBC which she serves as the Financial & Trustee Secretary, Announcer Clerk, Choir President, Program Administrator and on the Hospitality Committee.
Cathy performs the function of Administrative Specialist III for the Arkansas Board of Registration for Professional Geologists. Her areas of responsibility includes recording employee's time in the AASIS system, updating information in the database, registration, license renewals, processing applications, scanning, preparing files for Board review, proctoring the National Association of State Boards of Geology Exam, answering telephone inquiries related to examinations and/or licensure from geologists and potential geologists all over the United States. She responds to written inquiries through correspondence and/or email; verifies licensure for other state agencies as needed; provides information regarding license status, attends records, transcribes, and maintains minutes of committee meetings. Since working for the Board Cathy has put together instructions for future Board secretaries and is building a database for scanned files.
