General Description

The field trip route for the 6 stops described in this guidebook are along a route that extends from Batesville, Independence County, to Mountain View, Stone County. The stops on this two-day field trip have been chosen to illustrate the stratigraphy and depositional environments of the post-St. Peter Ordovician and Silurian rocks of north-central Arkansas. Three alternate stops are also included in the road log.
